Checking In

Well, school is FINALLY winding down, and I can see signs of having my life back! I have been planning our work Annual Awards Banquet, and it's this Friday. I am so excited, and nervous as well!

So.........the person who was Bert's BEST MAN at our wedding (less than two years ago) asked him to be an USHER at his wedding. Bert doesn't care at all and is glad he gets to sit with me, but I think this means his friend deserves a crap gift.

What does everyone else think? Am I being ridiculous? Or should I buy them a ceramic rooster?

Poor Little Suri

TomKat brought a baby girl, Suri, into the world...while Brooke Shields was delivering on the same hall. On "The Today Show," it was said Suri means "princess" in Hebrew and "rose" in Persian, and that it was likely they chose it for the Persian meaning.

So weird...I wonder if he knew Brooke was down the hall and if he criticized her for taking any drugs...

Bert's having to beg me to see "Mission Impossible 3" due to the fact I am SO NOT a Tom Cruise fan. I said I MIGHT go as long as I actually bought a ticket to a different movie so Tom didn't get any of my money to promote Scientology.

I wonder how different Tom might've been today if he wasn't a celeb...would he be more "normal?" I guess we'll never know...

SOOOO Effing Sleepy

Y'all, I woke up at 4:40 am and couldn't go back to sleep. I finally got up at 6, cleaned and decided to go to the gym. I have on a new outfit, and I am sooooooooooo sleepy. This day has been so difficult to get through.

And I have been waiting for it to be Friday since Monday.

I have dinner plans with a group from Grad School to celebrate getting the highest grade on our presentation in the class! Normally, I hate group projects, but this semester, both of my groups were awesome. I made some friends, and everyone EVERYONE pulled their weight. Have you ever heard of such?

I am looking so forward to dinner, but also extremely excited about watching "Deal or No Deal" tonight. My schedule leaves very little time for TV, but I'm addicted...I even watch it on CNBC sometimes when I miss it. Don't tell anyone.

On a side note, I don't think anyone fully appreciates my awesome dressy Bermuda shorts + speckled t-shirt + silver heels combo today. Y'all make a fuss over my outfit now, please. Thank you.

Not-So Lazy Sunday

It just sort of happened.

Between Bert and I, the yard is mowed, the house is clean, laundry is done, closets are clean and almost five bags of clothing have been taken to Goodwill. I swapped closets, so now all my summer stuff is in my bedroom instead of the spare room. I am caught up on homework. We cooked. We budgeted.

Whew.

What happened to, "All I'm going to do on Sunday is lay on the couch and watch movies?"

That was my intention, but it does feel nice today that much Spring Cleaning has been done.

But good Lord, I'm tired. I need another weekend right.now.

I am recovering well from the surgery last week. I started feeling better Saturday afternoon, just in time to treat myself to a mani/pedi before heading to an engagement party. It will be up to six weeks before I'm completely recovered, but I am feeling much, much better.

Amazing how one minute I felt terrible, but looking at my red nails made me feel so much better.

A Little Bit Scared

Y'all think of me at 1:30 p.m. EST today. I have to go get a "procedure" done, and I am a little bit scared. Bert took the afternoon off, and I plan on being spoiled rotten.

But, seriously, I am scared.
