Crazy Delicious
I think I am in love. They're only offering these until the end of June, so I have already had 2 of these since St. Paddy's Day. As soon as I press "Publish" on this post, I shall head to Chick-fil-A for taste #3 of heaven.Labels: food

A Glorious Spring
Azaleas bloom in three shades of pink, red and white.
I think this is just gorgeous.
It looks like something out of a fairy tale.
It looks like the white azalea bush crossbred with the hot pink one...
you can see the speckles of hot pink on the white flowers.

Matty's Almost A Grown-Up
I can't believe that our Matty will be one on April 1. And even though he will only be classified as a kitten for a few more days, he will always be our little baby boy. Here's the story on how this little miracle cat came into our lives: http://access-anisa.blogspot.com/2006/07/mattingly.html

Another Classic Quote
Last night in class, we had to get into groups.Side note: I got a 96 on the exam for this class, unlike my other terrible, awful class. See "The Bad Grade" for more info.
Anyway, the teacher counted us off, "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7." All the 1's had to be in a group together, etc. So, I was a 6 and my friend was as well. We were trying to figure out who else was in our group when this boy in my class with salt-and-pepper hair approached us and asked what "number we were."
"Are you in group 6? I'm a 6," I said.
"You're a 10, baby," he responded.
He then thanked me for not slapping him.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Happy Birthday, Bert! I love you and had a great time at IHOP this morning. I am so glad you love all your golf stuff and your gnome. And I love this classic quote:
"You are blessed because you should've been locked up." - quote from an employee at IHOP talking to another employee at 7am
The Bad Grade
I studied around 10 hours for my Microeconomics mid-term. I did all my homework, read everything I was supposed to and went to see my teacher for help. It felt like high school Physics all over again - no matter how hard I try, it's just not good enough.I woke up the morning of the mid-term with a bad headache. As the day went on, nausea joined my pounding head. I had a freaking migraine.
I went home, laid on the couch and tried to relax before the exam. I ended up feeling better during the test, and thought I had probably made a high B. I felt pretty good about it, considering I have such a tough time in there. Graphs and weird math stuff...not for me. But alas, it's a core class in my graduate program, so I must take it. Even though I am sure it'll ruin my 4.0 GPA, I have no choice.
Anyway, the professor handed back the exams Monday. I was nervous, but not freaking out.
75.5.
I was in shock and disbelief.
I paid absolutely no attention the last hour of the three-hour class because I was so disappointed. I have never even not made an A on an assignment in graduate school.
At the end of class, he showed a graph he had made with the distribution of grades. I am almost positive I made the lowest grade in the class. He said that he considered 75-89 a "B" on this exam, so that made me feel a little bit better.
I wanted to slap the person behind me who "didn't study" and did better than me.
I couldn't have studied any harder or prepared any more. All I know is that it feels terrible to do your best and not have it work out.
At least I can write.

10 Things I Am Randomly Thinking About
1. Matty has many talents. The one that really freaks us out is that if Bert and I start arguing or being snippy, Matty will without fail, start meowing and being mean to whoever's fault it was. He has yet to be wrong. He will then go and be extra sweet to whoever was right. It's freaky.2. The teens on "Sweet Sixteen" disgust me. They are spoiled and rude and deserve a good slap.
3. Today is the first day I have relaxed in forever. I mean, it's 1:00 p.m. and I'm still in my pajamas. I've been playing on the internet and watching junk TV. It feels great.
4. I make a ridiculously delicious chicken parmigiana. Thank goodness Mama is such a great cook and passed on the recipe to me.
5. "The Holiday" is a supergreat movie.
6. This lady at work knows of someone named "Chlamydia Gonorrhea" because the person's mother thought it was pretty after seeing those words in a doctor's office. WTF?
7. I am super excited about the great presents I got Bert for his birthday.
8. Our backyard has the most beautiful azaleas I have ever seen...white, red, light pink and hot pink. There are also yellow and purple flowers out there. I love flowers so much. One day I will have a Japanese Magnolia Tree.
9. I don't want to go back to school tomorrow.
10. I love the words three-peat and trifecta.
