MAMA TO THE RESCUE!

If you can't find something, call your Mama who lives 6 hours away and she will find it for you.

Mama, I love you. Big or small, you have always come to my rescue. Thank you for saving the day.

Spring, I Mean Winter, Cleaning

Y'all, with me starting a new job next week, I'm doing a major clean-up of my work computer. Therefore, I don't think I'll be back on Blogger this week while at work. I'll try and make Bert bring home his laptop so I can check in while we try and figure out our computer sitch. I think it's about time for internet at home...

A few thoughts...
1) Always take zero deductions when filling out your W-4. Don't even put yourself as a deduction for yourself. Get on www.irs.gov and do the worksheet to see what else you need taken out of every check also. Also, if your spouse gets a new job, remember to change your W-4 to reflect this. Otherwise, you will pay out the arse to the IRS. Yes, I've been stung by Uncle Sam.
2) The movie "Two For the Money" is a fun and entertaining watch. Make it a Blockbuster Night.
3) Don't forget that tonight is "The Women Tell All" on The Bachelor.
4) Yes, that was me yelling at the man talking to his friend at Wal-Mart and thus, holding up traffic for 5 minutes. As I walked by, I did yell, "You can't just stand here like this and hold up traffic!" I was then greeted with a, "Thank, you, guh. Are you the po-lice?" Needless to say, I was livid. WHY do people think you can just stand and chat with your friend who is in their vehicle while a line of cars form? SOMEBODY TELL ME WHY!!!
5) This was after the stupid woman who worked in the Arts and Crap area of Wal-Mart laughed at me when I asked her for double-sided fabric tape to keep my button-up shirt closed and not show my bra to the world. She laughed in my face, told me all tape was iron-on and that all their tapes were in different areas and they had nothing like I needed. I walked one aisle over, saw all the tapes together and found EXACTLY what I was looking for.
6) I hate Wal-Mart.
7) Now that I'm done with this job, I am not being syrupy sweet to all the mean people I deal with on a daily basis.
8) I don't want to go to the dentist today.
9) I love all of you, and will figure out my blogging situation ASAP.

Take care, everyone! I'll be back as soon as I can.

No, I Don't Have PMS

I am having a bad day.

I am very upset and angry and have been since around 8am. People are killing people right and left over the offensive cartoon and I'm sick of all the insanity. Let it go already. Don't those people get that people will doubly think the religion stands for terrorism if people kill over a cartoon that depicts the Prophet as a terrorist? HELLO!!

I am so annoyed by Katie, Al and Matt. Ann isn't bugging me, but the rest of "The Today Show" cast is. They're just annoying me with their Torino coverage. I really don't care about the Olympics. There, I said it. I want regular news back.

I am POed that some people don't care care of their business, and I have to go behind them and fix everything. This angers me to no end.

I am annoyed that the medicine I have to take for an infection makes me drowsy and nauseated. I mean, it's like which is better - the illness or the stupid meds?

I just want to throw up all over Tom Cruise. I think he's diabolical. Whenever I'm having a bad day and I hear more about him, it just makes me all the more upset.

So there you have it. I am not having a good Friday, which is my favorite day of the week. And if I know you, please don't ask me about my day. I really don't want to talk about this day ever.again.

Oddly enough, I feel better already.

To My Valentine

Once upon a time there was a very sad girl. She felt in her heart that life could be magnificent and full of fireworks and roses and all things spectacular. But her life seemed so empty.

And then, on a cold winter's night, she met a boy. And he loved her immediately. And she loved him right back. And this is their third Valentine's Day together.

Tonight, he has baseball practice. She has night class. This February 14th will consist of takeout by candlelight. And that's perfect.

He is the boy who always believed in her. When she got the call about her dream job, he was thrilled for her and let her go on a shopping spree for work clothes. She knew that was true love.
When she cries, he makes her feel better. When she makes bad jokes, he laughs at her, and she laughs at herself. When things seem dreary, he is a ray of light. He is ever the optimist.

She believes he can do anything he puts his mind to, and she will be beside him every step of the way. They believe their dreams are equally important. It is a true partnership. No one does all the cooking, all the cleaning, all the anything. Each makes the other's load a little lighter.

She has come to realize that fireworks and roses are wonderful, but not everything. Some days paradise is when you're sitting under a blanket while watching glowing flames in the fireplace.

They dance in the kitchen. They say "I love you" many times each day. They laugh until their sides hurt.

She knows men and women are different, and he will never talk about his feelings 24 hours a day. She has made him talk more, and he has made her see that love is not words, but actions.

But on this day, like every other day, I will tell you in some way that I love you.

All Over The Place

TGIF!!!

First of all, I haven't been able to upload any pics of my new, gorgeous furniture! My cell phone isn't letting me do it. I am seriously thinking of asking for a digital camera for my birthday!

Onto the next...how wrong was I about "The Bachelor?" Wow. Well, I personally think Travis is probably broken up with whoever the winner was in real life. My predicted winner, Sarah-Canada, badmouthed Moana and still lived at home and went to school. She got dumped because she was clearly immature. Sarah-TN and Trav still have forced chemisty. Susan's parents don't even like Susan. Moana's parents are scary.

Poor Travis.

Anyway, I feel a great deal of happiness that the weekend is finally here. Wish me luck with my 20-page paper due Tuesday, everyone!

Oh, on a side note (well, I suppose everything is a side note in this post), has anyone ever almost blacked out while working out? Last night I did some cardio on the elliptical before going to kickboxing. I don't know what happened, but when there were five minutes left in class, everything went dim. Did my heartrate just get too high? I always over-exert myself in classes.

Here's to a weekend of polite people and comfy shoes. Stay warm, everyone!

Culture Clash

Last night, I stopped by the coffee shop in the Student Learning Center before my class to get a giant cup of coffee. I placed my order, and tried to get out of line and go to the pick-up area, but these three people wouldn't move. I somehow got around them, but was ticked off.

I went to wait for my white chocolate coffee creation when one of the guys in the group pushed me out of the way. I was in shock. The girl then reached in front of my face and grabbed a straw, nearly hitting my face. All the while they talked very loudly in a different language. I was so confused. I had been blocked, pushed and nearly hit.

Is this just a part of some people's culture? They were all talking very loudly in what I think was Japanese. Do some cultures have a different idea of personal space? I chalked it up to that and didn't say a word.

So, I cleared my head and sat down a few minutes before class. This military guy in my class just sat there and talked on the phone very loudly. He was clearly having a personal conversation, and it was making everyone uncomfortable. It wasn't that he was talking about something private, but it was just annoying. You couldn't help but hear him talking.

Why do some people have varying ideas of rudeness? I was so annoyed by this point that I got up and knocked part of my coffee over. I cleaned up the mess and then my class began a lively discussion of ethics.

My teacher asked if someone could be immoral, but ethical. I offered that Bill Clinton was immoral, but was ethical in many of his decisions as President, since he acted in a way that was intended to better humanity.

My professor then said Bill Clinton was right up there with NASA to her - that she couldn't stand either. I was shocked, as she is clearly socialist in many of her ideas, so I know she's not hard core Republican. Was Clinton not liberal enough for her? I was confused, exhausted and over-caffeinated. I hate disagreening with teachers in public. Call me chicken.

I just smiled and was relieved it was time for a break. Surely all my politeness will get me somewhere one day. I am opinionated, but I have learned that people are much more responsive if you say what you have to say with a smile.

Furthermore, I don't believe any of these people are originally from the South. And that says volumes...

Random Tidbits

Happy Friday, everyone!

So, yeah, I had a dream within a dream WITHIN a dream about blogging. I don't remember what happened, but I deemed it blogworthy. Then I dreamed that I dreamed it. Then I dreamed that I dreamed that I dreamed it.

Confused? I know I was.

And I urge all of you to upload a picture of yourself to the web site www.myheritage.com. I got the idea from Kiki's blog, and it was so much fun! It said I 71% looked like Katie Holmes and also like Madonna (?) and Bert looked like Kate Winslet and Andy Roddick, among others like Sylvester Stallone. Hurry, go waste time there on this glorious Friday!

Don't y'all just HATE uncomfortable shoes? Well, last night, Bert and I had Date Night, and I decided to wear some cute black flats. My feet were killing me, so I ended up buying a pair of gold flats at Payless. Holy damn. When we ended up in Target after seeing "Derailed," I eventually just took the shoes off. About thirty seconds later, I was convinced I would catch gangrene from the floor, so I hobbled around in the freaking shoes. My heels are blistered.

Note to self: if you pay $15 for shoes, you get what you deserve. Stick with Nine West, dummy.

Anyway, I also just broke a really cute jacket I have on today. JEEZ. I just can't seem to get comfortable!

Well, I am soooo excited to see my mom, grandmother, aunt and my Huckles and Sam this weekend. We have a distant relative coming from England, so I will be in Atlanta tomorrow.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend - don't forget to wear comfy shoes.

Hold Please

Things are insane again.

There's the "big meeting" here today and yesterday I was busy from 8AM-10PM. Yes, I had a mini-breakdown at 6:30PM when all I wanted to do was go home and lay on my absolutely GORGEOUS new red couch!!

My living room freaking rocks. Only problem is that I haven't had enough time to sloth around.

Anyway, I promise a proper post soon. I'll tell y'all all about my dream about blogging and the web site that says I look like Katie Holmes and Bert looks like Kate Winslet. OK, OK, it says he looks like Andy Roddick too. But more like Kate.
